Movies where the main character witnesses a crime through a window or stumbles across some information considering a crime by coincidence like Kimi, start to feel to me like it is becoming a subgenre, which is good.
I guess the one who started the move is Hitchcock if you know a movie with the same atmosphere that preceded Hitchcock’s movie, let me know in the comments!
Well, taste in movies is subjective. And for that reason, as is the case for all the lists we did here in Filmiland; The films like Kimi will not be in any order!
In short, we just put together for you 5 movies like Kimi.
To sum up, these movies have in common the same atmosphere, related story, characters… etc. Nonetheless, let me know what you think in the comments I’d like to hear from you!
Without a doubt, Rear Window is the movie that inspired Kimi, so it is no secret that there will be similarities between them.
The main character is a professional photographer named Jeff, who is Confined to his New York apartment due to an injury in his leg.
Jeff spends most of his time looking out of the window watching the neighbors. Until he begins to suspect that his neighbor may have killed his wife!
I find this one to be one of Hitchcock’s finest movies, and for sure it is the nearest movie like Kimi considering the technological evolution.

The film revolves around a psychiatrist named Anna Fox who suffers from a mental illness named agoraphobia. Pretty much like the main character in KIMI movie!
And this disease makes her frightened and suspicious of open spaces. Therefore, makes her lock herself in her home and never goes out.
So now Anna spends most of her time at home watching the neighbors from the window; and one day during Watching her neighbors, a murder happens before her eyes that turns her life upside down.
The film is based on the famous novel, The Woman in the Window, by A. Jane Fein; It is mentioned that the novel has achieved great success and has been translated into many languages of the world.
So this success will be reflected and impact the movie, but the most crucial point is whether this impact will be positive or negative on the success of the movie? Well, here is a full review we did about it feel free to check it out!
The Neighbors’ Window
THE NEIGHBORS’ WINDOW tells the story of a mother frustrated with her husband and her day-to-day routine.
But her life takes a rough turn when a young couple moves in across the street and she finds that she can see into their apartment from her window. Believe me, this short movie is really worth your time, and the twist, in the end, is something impeccable.
you can find it here.
Another movie like Kimi I found is Disturbia starring Shia LaBeouf as Kale Brecht who after his father’s death became so sad that he finds himself in trouble with the law.
Kale becomes spying on the windows of his home towards those of his neighbor until Kale starts to suspect is a serial killer.
The Woman In The Train
The girl on the train, directed by Tate Taylor and stars Emily Blunt. The movie is an adaptation of the notoriously popular novel of the same name.
Emily Blunt plays the role of a deeply broken woman who is dealing with alcoholism and rides a train every day.
She sees people through the windows of the train and she makes up stories about how she thinks they live, these fantasies she creates with these people in her head are what hold her going every day until she witnesses something that shocks her and leads her down a dark path.
